The Accolade project was 35 years in the making, beginning with the vision of a fine arts program that would be one the best in Canada. The Accolade Project opened in 2005/2006. It provides facilities in two new buildings bracketing the existing Fine Arts complex at York University's Keele campus.
The Accolade $107.5 million project brings all of York's Fine Arts programs together in one dynamic cluster and is a catalyst for increase interaction and collaboration between the artistic disciplines. It is the largest and most complex facility to be delivered under a design-build contract at an Ontario university. The project was completed under a very tight timeframe of about 30 months, which is about half of the time normally expected by a university. |
